This manuscript was discovered in 2014 at Wat Bowonniwet Vihara (commonly called Wat Bowon) a royal Buddhist temple in Bangkok. For more detailed history and photographs of Wat Bowon you can visit their website Here.


The manuscript was written by the second abbot of Wat Bowon, Somdet Phra Maha Samana Chao Krom Phraya Pavares Variyalongkorn (Commonly referred to as Somdet Pavares). Somdet Pavares became the second abbot of Wat Bowon in 1851 at the age of 42. While there is not an exact date on the manuscript, Wat Bowon believes this manuscript would have been written sometime between 1840 and 1850. This particular manuscript also contains poetic descriptions about thai birds.
